Drains and Sewer

Drain Clearing

From a slow bathroom sink to a backed-up main line, cleared properly rather than pushed further down.

A drain that keeps clogging is telling you something. Chemical drain cleaners can clear the symptom for a week and damage older pipes in the process. We clear the blockage mechanically, and when a drain blocks repeatedly we run a camera down the line to find out why.

Common causes

  • Kitchen: grease and food waste building up in the trap and branch line.
  • Bathroom: hair and soap scum in the trap, or a failed vent causing slow drainage.
  • Main sewer: tree roots in older clay or cast-iron lines, bellies in the pipe, or collapsed sections.

Camera inspection

A sewer camera shows exactly what is in the line and where. It turns a guess into a plan: a single cleaning, a spot repair, or a liner. You see the footage, so you know the recommendation is based on what is actually there.

Questions we get asked

Should I use a chemical drain cleaner first?

We recommend against it. It rarely fixes the cause, it can damage older pipes, and it makes the drain hazardous for the plumber who opens it afterwards.

How do I know if it is the main sewer line?

If more than one fixture backs up at once, especially the lowest drains in the house, the blockage is likely in the main line.
